The Seventh-day
Adventist has full assurance that the day and hour of Jesus’ return (to bring
his people to heaven) will be announced beforehand.
To the average church member all the
preparations for making sure that one is saved become urgent due to the event
of sudden death or the “Close of Probation.” Again there is no mystery when the
Close of Probation will happen, because this will be preceded by the proclamation
of the “Sunday Law.”
For these
reasons the average SDA member would want to go to his deathbed by sickness
where he has ample time to prepare to meet God. An instant death by vehicular accident or
a bullet from a gun is not favored because of the uncertainty of being prepared.
This church
makes sure that each member is aware of the events that will take place before
this world will end. They know that they have all the facts as given by God through
the prophetess E. G. White. Prophecy is this church’s gospel.
